About me

Hey! I'm Marina and I'm very happy that you've found your way to my website :)

I'm a nature-loving person and spend a lot of time outside. Traveling is a big passion of mine, as well as animals, campfire evenings with wonderful people, music, dancing, and art. I like to draw and paint, go hiking in the mountains, go for dips in the lake, lie in the sunshine, and share all these moments with friends. A balance between action and calm moments is important to me.

I speak English, German, and Spanish.

Magyc the Horse

Magyc and I have been a team since 2018 and I really miss spending time with her, since I am in New Zealand. Our communication and connection is very special and she means everything to me.

We enjoy going for walks or rides in the forest, doing groundwork and handwork (especially lateral movements), playing around with positive reinforcement, learning tricks, etc.. She has taught me a lot!

Climbing & Archery

After my school graduation I started working in a tree-top climbing forest where I learned knots, abseiling and belay techniques, coaching guests and leading larger groups through different events and adventures. I then added an additional training as an "instructor for intuitive archery in the event sector", as I have done mounted horseback archery before as a hobby.

Astronomy Guide

Since May 2023 I have been working as an Astronomy Guide in the South Island of New Zealand. Together with a great team I am leading stargazing tours at the Mount John Observatory, where New Zealand's largest research telescopes are located.

Art

I was drawing with pencils of different grades for quite a while, and have now discovered drawing with charcoal. Because charcoal is softer than a pencil, more pigments are sticking to the paper and the drawings are darker overall - they have more contrast and depth. I really enjoy acrylic on canvas as well. Quite recently I have tried pyrography on wood.

New Zealand

I have been in New Zealand since September 2022, traveling around in my van for nine months, hiking and exploring, and helping on farms every now and then.
Since May 2023 I am based in Lake Tekapo.
The journey through New Zealand taught me a lot about life, people, nature & wild animals, hope, coping with difficult situations, changing car tires, and myself.
Photography is a big part as well, as the camera is accompanying me on nearly every adventure. I gained a lot more experience and also started to take some self portraits.
You can find some results in the following, or in the Gallery - Nature Photography (link).

What's next? Adventures 2026

From March - September 2026 I travel through Japan and explore other countries in Asia.
Exciting times ahead! :)
